We know holiday paradises like the Canary Islands from photos of the most beautiful hotspots they have to offer. But they are also branded and have an everyday life. They are optimised for tourism and industrially developed. In my work, I focus on local and global brands, their correspondence in public space, everyday life and the colouring that is present in the region. The photographs were taken in October 2002 during a ship reportage on the sailing ship "Roald Amundsen". The weather was the worst it had been for 15 years.
